Mass man guilty of transit kickback scheme

(AP) ? A Newton man has pleaded guilty to paying kickbacks to employees of a central Massachusetts transit authority to get them to by-pass the bidding system and steer business paid by the state's Medicaid program to a company he owned. Prosecutors say the 57-year-old Shrayber paid authority employees monthly cash bribes to land contracts for his companies transporting Medicaid patients to medical appointments.
