Bristol's pop-up Cop Shop which police run in Bristol city centre in the run up to Christmas has officially opened its doors.
The aim is to provide a point of contact, crime prevention advice and a police presence in the area during the busy Christmas shopping period.
The Bristol West Neighbourhood Team has also increased their police patrols in the main shopping areas when there are increased shoppers and visitors.
Sgt Matt Parfitt, whose team originally came up with the idea four years ago, said: "We've been running the Cop Shop for a few years now and has grown in size and popularity each year.
"It's really great to be out among the public dealing with their problems face-to-face, providing advice on how to avoid becoming a victim of burglary or bike theft or even just having a chat."
Last year over 4000 shoppers visited the police at the Cop Shop.
The crime prevention shop, is based in an empty retail unit in The Galleries, Bristol, and staffed by the Bristol West Neighbourhood Police Team supported by officers from across the city.
As well as advice on staying safe this Christmas, shoppers can benefit from demonstrations from partner agencies that include Bristol City Council Trading Standards, Avon Fire and Rescue and St John Ambulance .
Sgt Matt Parfitt said: "We're delighted at the continuing success of the Cop Shop. It makes us more accessible to anyone that wants to talk to us and gives us the opportunity to give advice to people who might not otherwise have come into contact with us."
