Banksy marks the jubilee with his trademark satire

BANKSY has marked the diamond jubilee in his own inimitable way.

The world-famous Bristol graffiti artist has claimed responsibility for a new stencil work which seems to depict child labour producing Union Jack bunting for the occasion. The piece appears on the wall of a discount store in Haringey, north London.

On his website, the artist said: "I painted this on the side of a shop which sells cheap jubilee merchandise, is located on the route of the Olympic torch relay ... but I only discovered any of this afterwards – I just thought it was a nice coloured wall."

A Banksy origami heron holding a goldfish in its beak sprang up overnight on Monday night, in Lyme Regis, Dorset.
